Experiencing a tropical climate, owing to its
proximity to the Bay of Bengal, the temple land of Puri serves to be an
ideal destination for the tourists almost round the year. Quite heavily
influenced by the coasts, the town gets pleasurable winds in the
evening. The temperature at the city varies between 36° Celsius to
below 16° Celsius respectively in summer and winter. Winter is the
perfect season to visit the city though the nights then are quite
chilly. Additional woolen clothes are therefore recommended to be
carried along.
The city experiences a very humid climate during the months of June to
September. It rains heavily during these months in the city thus making
the sea very turbulent. The month of October brings a relief from this
humidity as the rains stop then and the weather starts becoming placid.
